Marshall Durrett: Born to build.

Marshall DurrettIf you’re considering a new home or remodel, you have to meet this man. Born and raised in Sugar Land, Texas, Marshall began his career in construction by working at a young age for his dad’s commercial construction company. His love for building and craftmanship didn’t stop there. For Marshall, building was destined to be more than a hobby. After his initial foray with his dad’s company, Marshall continued working in construction throughout high school and college. While on summer and winter breaks from Texas A&M University, he always returned home to swing a hammer and learn the more intricate tools of the trade.

Once he completed his undergraduate degree in environmental design, as well as a dual master’s degree in land development and construction management, Marshall moved to Austin to work with a national homebuilder specializing in subdivision development and high-end luxury homes. The significant hands-on experience Marshall gained during this time was the perfect complement to his extensive education.

On the job, Marshall quickly worked his way from assistant project manager to project manager. As project manager overseeing the development of two large Westlake subdivisions, he was involved in every facet of the project - from land development and construction operations to marketing, sales, human resources, and financial reporting.

Since launching Durrett Interests in early 2001, Marshall’s group has completed dozens of finely crafted custom homes. Despite all his hard-earned knowledge and building experience, Marshall believes his group’s client relationship skills are its greatest asset. That’s why he and his staff of talented employees work on every custom home as though it were their own - bringing passion, focus, and energy to each project. What’s more, Marshall is a licensed real estate broker, offering additional independent services such as site selection, acquisition, and future sales listings. Put simply, Marshall and his group can handle just about anything you’ll encounter along the way.

Clearly, Marshall doesn’t just excel at custom home building - he lives it.
